Saint Luis Rey Regios Cigars
Saint Luis Rey is a premium Cuban cigar brand originally founded by British importers, Nathan Silverstone and Michael De Keyser in the 1940s. It is a pre-revolution brand in Cuba, and is currently produced by Habanos S.A., the Cuban stat-owned tobacco company. It was exclusively imported into the UK market until 1993, when Habanos S.A. began exporting the cigars worldwide.
The brand is believed to be inspired by a popular 1927 novel by Thornton Wilder, The Bridge of San Luis Rey. However, it is also possible that it is named after the town of San Luis, in the heart of the Vuelta Abajo region.
